News Update - March 12, 2009
And what a party it was!

Congratulations to the Arts Cochrane team for putting on a humdinger of an event to start off this year. You can read the details in the Arts Cochrane column in the March 11 edition of The Cochrane Eagle.

In that article I mentioned a power point presentation done by Maxine Herbert and Brian Fitzgerald. You can check out the Arts Cochrane presentation here.

I also mentioned that a survey was made available that evening. Please download a copy of the survey, fill it in and get it to Arts Cochrane (to Maxine at Tremar Computers, across from the IGA). Your input is needed - the more we get the better the result will be.

All the best,
Evelyn Grace Marinoski,
Arts Cochrane

We're having a party!

A Community Social/Potluck Supper - March 7
5-8 pm at the Frank Wills Memorial Hall

And of course - you are all invited!

The Steering Committee, and especially the Events Committee are hard at work planning a great evening for us. This will be a time to come and meet other artists, to bring your friends and neighbours to meet us, and to have a great evening together.

There will be a presentation of a powerpoint that was recently developed to explain where Arts Cochrane will be headed in the next while.

Here's a poster for the event - if you know of someplace you could put this up, please copy this and pass the news along. Thanks!

I've got to say, I am really impressed at the work the Steering Committee has already done since they took over from me at the beginning of this year. This is really exciting!

On another note, the Arts Cochrane website has now moved to a new hosting site. You will now be able to reach Arts Cochrane at its own e-mail address - info@artscochrane.com.

We have also set up a new blog. I'll leave the earlier one up as well for those who want to go back and read any of that. The new one will now be written by Maxine and others from the committee, and will help to keep you up-to-date on the latest news and events for Arts Cochrane.

All the best,
Evelyn Grace Marinoski,
Arts Cochrane

News Update - February 1, 2009
High time for some updates!

Wow, where has the time gone? It's February already!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back at this website. There have been some changes in my life over the past couple of months, and that has affected my work with Arts Cochrane.

Without going into details, my husband has some health concerns. Since at this stage we don't know how much longer he will be able to work, and we do need an income coming in, I have had to change my focus to getting my business end of things going. That was always part of my plan - but it has certainly moved to front of the line faster than I had planned.

That has also meant that I could no longer put the time and energy I had been into Arts Cochrane. I informed the steering committee of that in December and when we met in January I asked that someone else take over as the head of Arts Cochrane.

Those who have been following the columns in the Eagle will know that Maxine Herbert is now our new head of Arts Cochrane - and I am delighted. She is well acquainted with the arts world and is a real go-getter kind of lady.

I am also very pleased to see the way the steering committee has stepped forward to move ahead with the Arts Cochrane goals. You will be seeing more news about that in the coming weeks.

So even though my role will be considerably less in the next while as my husband and I deal with his health issues and as I work on my business, I am so glad that Arts Cochrane is alive and well and continuing to move ahead.

Wishing you all a happy and creative new year,
Evelyn Grace Marinoski,
Arts Cochrane
